You're Invited to Tour the New Des Arc Superintendent’s Office!

Tuesday, April 22 – Friday, April 25
8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Business Hours)
Location: Des Arc High School Campus – Former Home Economics Building

We’re excited to welcome the community for a walkthrough at the newly renovated Superintendent’s Office, located in the historic former Home Economics building on the Des Arc High School campus.

This beloved structure holds a special place in our town’s history. Built in 1938, during the Great Depression as part of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), the building served for decades as a hub of learning and community engagement. Many in Des Arc remember taking home economics classes here, or even attending Boy Scout meetings within its walls. In the 1950s, it was home to Mrs. Eagle Boyd, Home Ec classes, helping shape generations of students with valuable life skills.

Although the building has not been used for instruction since the district moved to a new complex in 1984, it remains a symbol of our shared past—and now, it’s ready for a new chapter.
