Des Arc Schools will be in session tomorrow, Jan. 17th. We will have a two-hour delay and start classes at 10:00. We do respect the parent’s decision if they feel that their child would be better off staying home due to the road conditions. If your child is absent tomorrow, it will not go against their semester test exemption.
We will be running SNOW ROUTES in the morning as well. Please refer to your time and location for pick up and add two hours to the stated pickup time. For example, if pickup is at 7:20, it will now be at 9:20. There are two exceptions to this:
If you ride Mr. Tim Baxter’s bus, everyone will meet at the old high school in Devall’s Bluff at 9:00.
Mrs. Joanne Anderson’s bus will only run the city route in the morning, with the first pickup at 9:20. The roads East of the bridge are still very spotty.
We realize that there will be opposing opinions on this decision to have school tomorrow. However, all the main roads except the Sand Hill area look safe. We also know that parents have work and kids don’t want to be in school in June. We once again stress that if you feel strongly about not sending your child to school tomorrow, it is your choice. For those who do come, we encourage you to be careful and drive safely. If this changes due to conditions in the morning, we will send out a notification.
